I'm going to be an Aunt(again)!!!!!!!!!
I actually drafted this post two weeks ago. I'll start at the beginning.
Chris and I started talks about having children a year ago on Valentine's day(I hate Valentine's day which is why I remember this conversation date). We decided we'd start trying in December. Fast forward to the summer of 2010 and I remember going to the lake with my brother and our exact conversation.
Me to John: Chris and I are going to start trying to have kids in December. You and Tahereh need to get on it because our kids are going to be best friends just like we are. I'm telling you, as soon as I'm pregnant I'm going to call every day to see if Tahereh is pregnant yet.
John to me: Uhhhh huhhhh.
I know this sounds strange, but my brother and I are very, very close. He's always been my protector, hero, sounding board, and all around hilarious best friend since the day I was born. The guy even washed my hair in the toliet with pieces of bar soap when I was little to help my Mom. So I always wanted for our kids to be just as close as we are. John and I are only 15 months apart, so you see my need for urgency here. I also just adore my sister. Sister-in-law just doesn't seem to do it justice since I've known her for 13 years now and grew up with her. Sometimes it seems like she's the older one because she gives me great advice on everything.
Now fast forward to Mom's birthday, May 12, 2011. We're sitting at dinner and I'm across from my Dad, next to my brother, and Tahereh is on John's other side. Here's a transcript of the conversation from my point of view:
Tahereh to Mom: I didn't like something I ate.
John to me: It's because she's pregnant.
Me to John(putting down my fork from eating off my Dad's plate, his food was better): Huh?
John to me(again): It's because she's pregnant.
Me (interrupting the converstaion) to Tahereh: ARE YOU PREGNANT!?!?
Tahereh to me: Why would you ask that?
Me to Tahereh: That's not a valid response!
Tahereh: Yes, we are!
Me: AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (as crush my brother in a hug and practically knock him out of his chair to give Tahereh a hug and kisses on the cheek).
At this point in the game, I was still miserably sick and I swear the only thing that made me happy besides knowing I was having our incredible baby was knowing that John and Tahereh were having one too(seriously, ask poor Chris). I cannot express how excited I am. Mom and Dad are over the moon of course, they kept asking for grandkids, boy did God answer their prayers(ask Mom about Passion Island in Mexico)!
Back to the details, John and Tahereh are due January 12th, making them 14 weeks this week. They will find out the gender in the next 6 weeks. I'm betting a girl(because I found the most adorable Polo dress the other day) and Chris thinks they are having a boy. Chris' sister has 3 boys and Tahereh's sisters each have one boy. Lot's of boys in our family, so we'll see!
Congratulations, John and Tahereh!!!!!!

How do you name someone you've never met?
Baby Blue is the length of an ear of corn(11.81 inches, almost a foot!) this week and about 1 1/2 pounds. I can feel him kick all the time, it's just such a miracle. I miss him when he's not kicking(I know this sounds silly) and I love when he moves. It makes me smile even at 4am. Our next doctor's appointment is next Tuesday, 7/12, and it will be our first appointment without a sonogram, I'm sad! We will doing the famous glucose test to screen for diabetes.
Chris's parents came over last weekend and Chris and his Dad put the crib together! It's so gorgeous! Thanks to Chris's parents for all the furniture building and moving and thanks again to my parents for the gorgeous crib! We couldn't be more blessed!
My Mom has been hard at work on the crib sheets, crib skirt, and diaper stacker. They are even more perfect than I imagined. Curtains and quilt/comforter still to come, cannot wait! Here's a close-up:
Mom and Dad bought Chris all these Rangers onesies, slippers, and pacifiers. So cute! They also bought the onesie below :)
We are at a standstill on names, we were leaning towards Jace, but now we are leaning towards Kai. Luckily we still have 112 days to decide :)

Dallas Arboretum
Yesterday morning we got up bright and early and headed down to the arboretum. Chris took a bunch of pictures(I will preface this with I don't like having my picture taken) and here are a couple of the ones in color. Black and whites coming shortly :) My apologies, we nicknamed me "angry preggo" because for some reason I look really unhappy in all of the pictures, haha! I really was having a good day :)
We also put the glider together one night last week and it's awesome! I'm so excited!
I felt the baby move/kick for the first time last Friday night, June 10th. We were at dinner and Chris noticed that I was quiet for more than a minute and thought something was wrong. I just couldn't believe it! Chris can't feel it yet when he puts his hand on my stomach but it will happen soon enough I'm sure.
Check out the first Calvin and Hobbes decor for the baby's room from Chris's Mom, how awesome is this!??! Sooooo adorable, I'm in love :)
Last but not least, Mom and I picked out bedding for the baby's room. Stripes, large polka dots, and small polka dots all in white, blue, and green matching the walls and furniture. We got fabric for a comforter(which will feature Calvin and Hobbes in the middle), bed skirt, curtains, valence, and two bed sheets(one large polka dots and one small polka dots). Very cute, but still very boyish(Chris even approved). She's just so talented, I looked online and couldn't find anything I liked. Leave it to my Mom to come up with the absolute perfect bedding for our gorgeous little boy. It's going to look so good I cannot wait to see!

Cutest little boy in the world!
We had our 20 week appointment at 21 weeks and Baby Blue is doing wonderfully. He weighs 15 oz., almost 1 pound! He's in the 75% for size. The sonographer said if he keeps trending this way we could have an 8 or 8 1/2 pound baby and she literally said "we could have a little bruiser on our hands"! His heartbeat was 149, which is great. This appointment they looked and measured his brain and heart to make sure everything looked good and he is right on track with no issues. Our doctor actually said the sonogram "looks fantastic". They also confirmed that we are having a boy, oh boy did they! They also did a quick 3D sonogram and if I do say so myself, we have the cutest little boy in the whole entire world :)
Purchases this week:
Remember in a past post when I said eating was still an issue? Well, no more. I LOVE eating again, and mostly sweets. And I like ham which I never really did before. This kiddo has very interesting taste :)
I believe we've narrowed names down to these two(they've been consistantly on the list for 3 weeks now, longer than any other names):
Jace Bounds Dickinson
Kai Bounds Dickinson
Chris's dad is going to come over this weekend and help Chris put the crib together and we are going to put the glider together as well(maybe we'll get crazy and try it tonite, who knows!). Everything seems to be coming together week by week, I cannot wait!!!
Purchases this week:
Wall hanging for baby's room
And for all the Futurama fans like us out there

Week 20, Here We Come!
Tuesday we'll be 20 weeks/5 months! Here are the stats for week 20: Cantaloupe Average size: 6.5 in, 10.6 oz. Our next doctor's appointment is on Monday, June 13th.
The baby and I went to NYC this week for work and although we didn't get much sleep, we did get to see a lot of the amazing city. While we were gone, Chris and his incredible parents painted the baby's room. Dolphin grey and spring green. It looks SO good!
Chris's first baby purchase(I'm not counting the Cowboys outfit since that was for me) was baby's first pair of Shell Toes! Could they be any cuter?!?
We finished our registry yesterday and all I can say is wow. So much stuff to consider/compare. Thank goodness for the Baby Bargain book a friend recommended, it was a life saver! Swings, pack n' play, exersaucer, stroller, car seats, there are SO many things for such a small person. It's really nice to have a book that compares safety, cost, and consumer feedback all in one place. I'd recommend this book for all future parents. I also cannot stop buying baby clothes, it's addicting!
We're having a garage sale at my parents' next weekend to hopefully make more room for the awesome new addition to our household.
We've narrowed the name list down to the following, but as always, these could and most likely will change:
Jace Bounds Dickinson
Ash Bounds Dickinson
Kai Bounds Dickinson (pronounced like sky without the "s")
Everything is coming along great, next step, bedding, crib setup, and room decorations!
